Published in 1821 by John Drayton, Memoirs of the American Revolution was based on original papers, documents, and writings collected by his father, William Henry Drayton. Two volumes of his work focused specifically on memoirs relative to South Carolina during the Revolutionary War. William Henry Drayton preserved many historical documents that otherwise would have been lost to time.
